Electrical Department

The Department of Electrical Engineering was established in the year 2009. It has academic programme with intake of 60 under graduate students. The department is equipped with the latest expe- rimental and computational facilities. It runs to cater to the ever challenging needs of technical excellence in all areas of electrical engineering such as Power Systems, Electrical Machines,  Control & Automation, Integrated Electronics & circuits and Power Electronics.

    To provide learning environment for electrical engineering having  high quality education and ethical values to meet the future global challenges.

Mission

       To provide high quality graduate program in electrical engineering so that it prepares students for 

1) Llife-long learning to meet professional, intellectual and ethical tasks.

2) Better employability, startups and entrepreneurship.

3) Industry and  managerial skills to be highly competent Electrical Engineers

 Program Educational Objectives (PEOs)

At 4-5 years after Graduation, the Student as a Professional will:

PEO1.: To create better learning environment to develop entrepreneurship capabilities in various areas of Electrical Engineering with superior efficiency, productivity, cost effectiveness and technological empowerment of human resource.

PEO2.: To inculcate research capabilities in different areas of Electrical Engineering to identify, comprehend and solve problems and adapt themselves in a world of constantly evolving technology.

PEO3.: To generate high standards of moral and ethical values among the graduates, this will help in transforming them as responsible citizen of the nation.

Labs


Power Electronics laboratory is used with the course on "Power Electronics-I", "Power Electronics-II", and "Electrical Drives". This lab has Different power electronic module (such as converters, Inverters and choppers), Electrical Drive for Induction motor, Electrical Drive for PMSM motor, Digital Storage Oscilloscopes, signal generators, multi meters, IGBT Power Card, Thyristor Power cards, Gate Driver Cards, etc. to carry out experiments.
The department has well equipped rich, spacious machine laboratory, which is facilitated by all kinds of electrical machines like AC/DC generators, AC/DC motors, synchronous machines, various transformers & well designed electrical panels for each machine.
This laboratory includes HVAC and HVDC test kit & 100KV Impulse generator with the measuring apparatus like Sphere Gap assembly, Resistance divider, Capacitance divider & Rod gap assembly. It also contains set-ups like, High voltage insulation tester, Oil test kit, Horn gap apparatus, Corona cage, and electrolytic tank & Electro static precipitator test kit.
This laboratory is equipped with one advanced server, 30 numbers of Desktop computers with Windows XP as operating system & connected in network using domain controller. This laboratory is enriched with most of the license software, applications packages, 8085 and 8086 Microprocessor Kits
